Drainage is what makes or breaks a flat roof
A low slope roof is only flat in name. It is designed to move water to drains and scuppers within about 48 hours, and anything that interferes with that, a clogged drain, a crushed insulation area, a settled deck, or a rooftop addition that dams water, shortens the life of the membrane above it.
Standing water accelerates UV breakdown, adds structural load, and turns a small seam defect into an interior loss. Correcting slope with tapered insulation, adding drains or scuppers, and keeping drainage paths clear is often the highest-value work we do on a flat roof.

- How long should a commercial flat roof last?
- With sound drainage and regular maintenance, most modern single-ply systems in Indiana perform for roughly twenty years or more. Poor drainage is the most common reason they do not.
- Can ponding water be corrected without a full re-roof?
- Often, yes. Tapered insulation crickets, added drains, or scupper work can resolve localized ponding on an otherwise sound roof.
- Do you handle roofs with a lot of rooftop equipment?
- Regularly. Units, ductwork, solar arrays and conduit all create penetrations and traffic paths that need to be detailed and protected.
